The B-24 Liberator was a distinctive aircraft that features a twin tail, rudder assembly, and flat, slab-sided fuselage. The latter description earned it the moniker Flying Boxcar. Just like its predecessor the B-17, the B-24 was equipped with a huge array of defensive guns, which were mounted on its top, nose, tail, and belly turrets. It can carry bombs weighing as much as 8,000 lbs. The bomb bay, which was halved by a narrow catwalk, was unpopular among its aircrews. The B-24J iteration had a total aircraft production of 6,678 models, which had been patterned after the B24H models without the defensive armament revisions. Nevertheless, the J variety bomber liberator aircraft had featured an enhanced autopilot and bombsight technology.
